second "rough cut"

D:MUsic VIdeosecond cutt from Jack Stokoe on Vimeo.
I'm very happy with this cut and since the last video I have made many changes. The mian change being the emphisis on the editing. I have tried to cut the music to the beat thus leving a smooth change from one scene to another. This is seen at the scene at penshaw monument where I have cut five estabishing shots of the monument to fit together with the fast beat of the drum. This is effective and fits well with the video. Another thing I've added is the archive footage of sunderland winning the Fa cup final in 1972. This footage really fits in well with the contrast of the new footage and the old gives a graeter feel of reminising ( which is one of the main focuses of the video) .

In this video I give a directors commentary over the video so far.

I address these subject areas:

-the need to re-shoot the first scene due to no picture being inside the sleeve of the record

-the need to improve the editing so the video cuts with the beat

- using the reverse edit on premier pro to keep the action match.

- whether I should use archive footage in my Peirce ( due to my approval of the 1073 fa cup final footage)

- how I've cut the footage by the glass door due to the cameraman's refection ( me)

- the use of slow motion at the scene on the beach and the effectiveness of it to the wider story

-  how the ending is an anti climax and how it needs to be re-shot
